The N8976B high performance noise coefficient analyzer can measure the noise coefficient quickly, accurately and repeatably. When used in conjunction with SNS series noise sources and U7227 series USB preamplifiers, ENR data and USB preamplifier data from SNS are automatically downloaded to N8976B.
The N8976B has a multitouch interface that allows you to zoom in, out and drag gestures. Most menus can be accessed with a single finger, without changing the screen.
The noise source calibration of Y factor measurement is significantly simplified by performing a comprehensive calibration of up to 12 device Settings in one step. The use of internal calibration functions, without the need for user calibration, can save valuable test time for many types of devices under test.
The built-in noise factor uncertainty calculator can pre-fill in data from SNS noise sources, USB preamplifiers, and all necessary instrument parameters such as analyzer noise factor, gain, noise factor uncertainty, and matching. The default noise factor setting provides simultaneous noise factor and gain measurements. Using a Table view, you can view several measurements at the same time in a Table, including noise coefficient, noise factor, Y factor, gain, Phot, Pcold, and Teffective.
The N8976B spectrum analyzer mode and the IQ analyzer (foundation) mode provide additional flexibility to allow customers to measure noise coefficients in addition to more in-depth analysis of device characteristics as needed.
The 44 GHz built-in preamplifier (option P44), 25 MHz analysis bandwidth (option B25), precision frequency reference (option PFR), fine step attenuator (option FSA), and background noise expansion (option NFE) are provided as standard options.
Through LAN, USB or GPIB interface connected to the technology signal generator, the external simulation of local vibration and frequency conversion device input connection can be achieved. The local vibration control can be adjusted from N8973B.
