背景介绍：This gene encodes a mitochondrial protein that is a member of the solute carrier family. Although this protein was initially thought to be the mitochondrial deoxynucleotide carrier involved in the uptake of deoxynucleotides into the matrix of the mitochondria, further studies have demonstrated that this protein instead functions as the mitochondrial thiamine pyrophosphate carrier, which transports thiamine pyrophosphates into mitochondria. Mutations in this gene cause microcephaly, Amish type, a metabolic disease that results in severe congenital microcephaly, severe 2-ketoglutaric aciduria, and death within the first year. Multiple alternatively spliced variants, encoding the same protein, have been identified for this gene.

免疫酶染色应注意控制：

1. 呈色质浓度和反应时间。增加成色质的量和（或）增加底物反应时间，可增加反应产物强度；着色太深可减少反应时间。

2. 过氧化物酶显色时，H2O2浓度较大将使显色反应过快而至背景加深；过量H2O2可能抑制酶的活性。
